This Saturday Night in SoCal
posted by The Dark Prince
TONS of stuff going on Saturday night if you’re living in the SoCal area! I’ve caught a cold again this week, which is the third time in less than two months, so I’m doubtful for anything, but just because I’m stuck home in bed, don’t let that keep you from going out.
No, really, it’s cool, I understand, go ahead, have some fun. I’ve got my Lara Croft and tea with brandy, so I’m chill.

Club Suicide is going down again this Saturday! (God, will I ever get to go to one of these?) This time the Girls (15 of them, to be exact) will be signing copies of the official SG hardcover coffee table book, promised to be filled with 396 pages of sexy nakedness. (Do SG girls dig guys with colds, ’cause I got that goin’ on, so maybe I can go after all). Our very good friend Atlas Suicide promises to be there, pen in hand, so stop by Saturday night at the Dragonfly in West Hollywood!

IllGill seems to be something of a rousing success as a club promoter, having just gotten his Warpzone in 944 Magazine. This Saturday night, the Warpzone presents Folktastik Kerstmisch, featuring a half dozen acoustic acts, such as Instead of Hearts (who I’ve been dying to see for over a year) Josh Crampton of Luna is Honey, Ilo Mar, Dana & Stripes, Traildriver, and Paloma. 944 cites the Warpzone as the next big underground thing, so you should probably start going before all the lame posers find out about it. I’ll actually be there in spirit, as the Warpzone streams every performance night live on the Internets via Stickam, so out-of-towners take note. The fun starts at 9:00 PM in West Hollywood, B.Y.O.B.!
Like I said, there’s a ton of stuff going on for some reason all on Saturday. My Elysian, Young Buck, and Girl in a Coma are all playing SD that night, but I’ll most likely end up watching the Oscar De La Hoya vs. Manny Pacquaio fight, catching some of the Warpzone feed, and watching Lara Croft smack her ass some. Not a bad night, but I still wish I could go out :(
P.S. Check out my Eventful.com Profile and add me if you really want to keep up to date with what’s going on in SoCal!

This Sunday Night, ZeaLouS1 Performs Live
posted by The Dark Prince
The Takeover continues this Sunday night without a guest to interview, but that’s because ZeaLouS1 will be ending the show a little early so he can get across town to perform live at Churchill’s Pub & Grill! Aw, not in the SoCal area? Don’t worry, we’ll be broadcasting the show live on-air via the KKSM on-line radio station immediately following the Takeover! We hope you’ll be able to make it one way or another as it should be an awesome local show, full of Z1’s friends and family. Tune into the Takeover live at 6 PM PST right here at 247Takeover.com and stay afterward for the live performance by Z1, or visit Eventful.com for full details on attending in person!

Video: Nothing Else Matters - solo piano, Scott D. Davis
posted by The Dark Prince
I love the piano. Tori Amos plays the piano. I love her. Therefor, I love the piano.
I like Metallica. Their music, not them, personally. If I have to read one more damn write-up about how they’re trying to hold onto their music like it was their first born while squeezing every dime out every note they play, I’m going to start hating them. As it is, I’m indifferent.
So all that segues into me telling you about this pianist Scott D. Davis that plays Metallica covers on the piano. And, he sounds really good, too. And, he wears leather pants while doing it. How metal is that? Scott released Pianotarium - Piano Tribute to Metallica last year, and he’ll be performing at PianoSD in San Diego on Sunday. More details at Eventful.com regarding the performance, but check out the vid below:
