Would you believe it? THE ENTIRE TAKEOVER CAST WAS SICK! Tony B. and The Dark Prince managed to drag themselves out of bed and made it to the studio to put on the best show two dying people could. They interviewed director Seth Grossman, who proved to be the funniest, most entertaining guest that’s ever been on the show, ZeaLouS1 was cursed out more than once for not showing up, Mrs. Takeover called in and gave the boys an odd homemade remedy guaranteed to cure what ails ya, music was played, and everything ended a little early because no one could stop coughing.

The Takeover - S03E10 - Dynamic Duo

And then there were two. ZeaLouS1 was out trying to pay off Lil’ Weezy, and Silent D. fell prey to the Chupacabra, which left The Dark Prince and Tony B. to host The Takeover all alone. Oh no! What will our heroes do?! Fear not, because the show actually turned out pretty well, we started everything off with a salute to our new president-elect, Barack Obama, talked more about politics than we ever have on The Takeover (all episodes combined), tested the limits of DP’s sick/sexy voice, interviewed the wonderful Zombies! Organize!!, learned why public figures should keep their noses clean, got very deep into the sObE (that’s how we’re spelling it now) and, somewhere towards the end of it all, we held a vote on whether we should let ZeaLouS1 back onto the show :P Download and listen to find out the results!

This Sunday Night, Zombies! Organize!!

This Sunday night we interview the completely unique trio known as Zombies! Organize!! Based out of Boca Raton, Florida, these alternatives to the alternative just released their debut album Before It’s Too Late and we’ll have them on to discuss the trials and tribulations of what it took to bring that together, as well as their live shows, and, come on, you know zombies are going to come up at some point :P
We also hope to have Silent D. back in the studio, possibly announce the live broadcast from Las Vegas next week during the Lars/Front/YTCrack show, and also partake in an in-studio wine tasting of Maynard James Keenan’s (Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer) “Arizona Stronghold.” Yeah. Wine. Because we’re classy like that.

Silent D. returns to The Takeover to fill in for an absent ZeaLouS1 (who had to pay some bills) for a fun filled, jam packed, drunk off SoBe 3 hours! We got immediately into why it’s not a good idea to call your girlfriend a bitch, how we spent our Halloweens, the craziness that is World of Warcraft with people stabbing each other and Blizzard making tons of cash, the recent firing of the Chargers defensive coach, CHEETAHS ON A FREAKIN’ PLANE, Obama pumping money into in-game advertising, our views on California’s Proposition 8, the new Hot Topic music store, and we closed everything out with a very brief ZeaLouS1 freestyle call-in!

The Takeover - S03E08 - Halloween Fail

We’re sorry!
Really guys, we are, we had technical difficulties once again while attempting to broadcast from Churchill’s Pub & Grille in San Marcos, CA. This time we came damn close to pulling it off, but in the end we just couldn’t get it going live for you. But, as promised, we did record the show, including the live performance by ZeaLouS1!
Our apologies to Raven Sorvino, who drove down all the way from LA to be on the bill, and who only got to perform a couple of songs at the tail end of the night. Unfortunately we weren’t able to record her performance, but we definitely recommend heading over to her MySpace and downloading her latest album, Real Fresh, completely free of charge. Really, it has the official Takeover stamp of approval, so you know it has to be awesome.

This Sunday Night, Live Halloween Show

The Takeover packs up the studio this Sunday night for a special, never before attempted (well, we did try that one time, but that doesn’t count) live remote broadcast of our Halloween show at Churchill’s Pub & Grille! This looks to be an exciting all-ages event, as it marks the first live remote broadcast of the Takeover, as well as it’s first full on-air performance (other than Z1’s classic weekly show-stopping freestyles, of course). KKSM AM 1320 Palomar College Radio and Subnation are also fully backing the live show, which means we’ve got a $50.00 cash prize for our Halloween costume contest, a box full of t-shirts, hats, CDs, and bags to give away, and to top it all off, LA hip-hop artist Raven Sorvino will be coming down for a live on-air performance.
Oh, yeah, ZeaLouS1 will also be performing ;P

An awesome show! The real return of Silent D. in the studio! An interview with Madhatter!
The ball kept rolling this past Sunday, where we found out where SD has been for the past five months, learned of the deadly chupacabras roaming the southern Californian territory, got into our money troubles, started an official beef war with Sangriaa and Nina of Vagina Deep in Podcast, reminisced about our times with Matthew McConaughey, spoke highly of Eminem, shared our WoW patch update stories, asked ourselves why teenagers take naked pictures of themselves and post it on the Internets, went through the 9 awesome places to have sex, and closed everything out with a technical difficulties ridden freestyle.

The Takeover - S03E06 - Take It To The Grave

Such a great show! We’re really sorry if you missed it live, we had trouble with our server all throughout the show, which led to a great deal of cutting out and connection errors. Don’t worry though, we have the podcast version all ready to go for your listening pleasure!
This week we interview the lovely and talented Raven Sorvino, tried to keep on point with the San Diego Chargers dominating the New England Patriots in the background, got into some of the most highly anticipated games we’re hoping Santa brings us this holiday season, talked about WoW hardware and the upcoming expansion, brought up all kinds of pending lawsuits and litigations, some our own, some other people’s, mourned the shut-down of Mother’s Cookies, and closed out everything with a freestyle.
