This Sunday Night, Zombies! Organize!!
posted by The Dark Prince

This Sunday night we interview the completely unique trio known as Zombies! Organize!! Based out of Boca Raton, Florida, these alternatives to the alternative just released their debut album Before It’s Too Late and we’ll have them on to discuss the trials and tribulations of what it took to bring that together, as well as their live shows, and, come on, you know zombies are going to come up at some point :P
We also hope to have Silent D. back in the studio, possibly announce the live broadcast from Las Vegas next week during the Lars/Front/YTCrack show, and also partake in an in-studio wine tasting of Maynard James Keenan’s (Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer) “Arizona Stronghold.” Yeah. Wine. Because we’re classy like that.
Don’t miss the fun and insanity, we start live at 6:00 PM PST Sunday night at 247Takeover.com!

Pontypool LA Screening Tonight
posted by The Dark Prince

Here’s a new zombie film for all the dead heads out there, ZeaLouS1 included, called Pontypool about a radio DJ caught in the studio on-air during a zombie outbreak. Think Howard Stern meets World War Z. I can’t believe I’ve never asked Z1 what we’d do if the zombie apocalypse went down during The Takeover. I know we’d have SoBe, but that runs out by the third hour. Oh God! What would we do then?!
If you’re in the Los Angeles area tonight, with nothing to do since the election is over (I know I’m looking for something new to focus on) there’s “a free, first-come first-served, screening of the film [tonight] - Thursday November 6th - in Westwood at 8pm.” Twitch has all the details about RSVPing if you plan on making it down. I really want to go myself, because free is free, and zombies are zombies, but that’s a drive to take in a flick all the way from San Diego without a date. Wonder if I can dig one up. Get it? “Dig” one up? Ah, you get it :P

Halloween Zombie-ocalypse
posted by The Dark Prince
Happy Halloween, everyone! By now you should all be out trick-or-treating, preparing for the late night parties, or climbing out of your grave for a night out on the town. Me? Well, I’m just getting over a cold, so instead of getting out to a club, I’ll be home, watching the Are You Afraid of the Dark? marathon on the NickToon Network, and coughing on all the candy I hand out so that every kid in the neighborhood is sick next week :P
Just in time for Halloween, the good people of Runawaybox just released another cool video, the theme being office zombies. Enjoy!

Left 4 Dead Available 4 Pre-Order
posted by The Dark Prince

This past Takeover episode, we brought up the 15 most highly anticipated games of the holiday season, and Valve’s Left 4 Dead was one of them. Download the episode to hear ZeaLouS1 drool on-air over the possibility of joining up with people across the Internets and laying waste to thousands of the undead, or to even turning on those same people and becoming one of the walked dead himself. Here’s the official write-up:
From Valve (the creators of Counter-Strike, Half-Life and more) comes Left 4 Dead, a co-op action horror game for the PC and Xbox 360 that casts up to four players in an epic struggle for survival against swarming zombie hordes and terrifying mutant monsters.
Set in the immediate aftermath of the zombie apocalypse, L4D’s survival co-op mode lets you blast a path through the infected in four unique “movies,” guiding your survivors across the rooftops of an abandoned metropolis, through rural ghost towns and pitch-black forests in your quest to escape a devastated Ground Zero crawling with infected enemies. Each “movie” is comprised of five large maps, and can be played by one to four human players, with an emphasis on team-based strategy and objectives.
New technology dubbed “the AI Director” is used to generate a unique gameplay experience every time you play. The Director tailors the frequency and ferocity of the zombie attacks to your performance, putting you in the middle of a fast-paced, but not overwhelming, Hollywood horror movie.
The game looks right up the Takeover’s alley, the dark and fun-filled zombie fest that it is, so I’m sure we’ll be playing it when it’s released November 18. Head over to the Steam website to pre-order it for the PC, or your favorite console gaming outlet if you’d like it for the Xbox 360.
Check out some excellent gameplay footage after the jump!
